Apple’s first foldable phone reaches customers this month. The iPhone Duo opens for pre-orders on Friday, October 16, at 5 a.m. Pacific Time, and starts shipping on Friday, October 23, according to Apple’s announcement. U.S. pricing starts at $1,999.

The phone is only part of a busy month. 9to5Mac says Apple is reportedly lining up more than seven products for October, but only the iPhone Duo is official. The rest, from a new iPad mini to home devices and Macs, rests on reports and rumors.

What Apple has confirmed about the iPhone Duo

Apple unveiled the iPhone Duo on September 9, 2026, describing it as the first foldable iPhone and, when opened, the thinnest iPhone it has made. It has a 7.6-inch inner display with a nano-texture finish meant to reduce glare, and a 5.4-inch outer display, according to PhoneArena’s rundown of the specifications.

The design is passport-style, meaning it is wider than it is tall when open. It comes in star white and night sky, with a grade 5 titanium frame. Apple says it supports Apple Intelligence and Siri AI, and the phone runs iOS 27 with optimizations for the folding form factor.

PhoneArena also lists an A20 Pro chip, a side-mounted Touch ID sensor, a front camera placed beneath the inner display, and battery life of up to 44 hours with the outer display and up to 31 hours with the inner one. Battery figures are manufacturer claims, so they say little about real-world use until independent tests appear.

Price, storage and where it launches

MacRumors reports that U.S. pricing starts at $1,999 for 256GB, then rises to $2,199 for 512GB, $2,599 for 1TB and $3,199 for 2TB.

Apple says customers in more than 70 countries and regions can pre-order on October 16, with availability on October 23. The list includes the U.S., the U.K., Germany, France, India, Japan, China, Canada and Australia, among others. Another 28 countries and regions follow on October 30. Apple also says the iPhone Duo Case and the iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand can be ordered from October 16.

What is reported for the rest of October

Everything below comes from reporting and rumors, not from Apple. 9to5Mac says an overhaul of Apple’s home lineup is expected on Tuesday, October 13, centered on Siri AI and other Apple Intelligence features that need new hardware. The rumored products are a new Apple TV 4K with an A19 or A19 Pro chip and a new Siri Remote, a HomePad home hub with a built-in touchscreen, and a HomePod mini 2 with a more powerful chip.

For Macs, 9to5Mac lists a redesigned high-end MacBook Pro, possibly branded Ultra, with touch and an OLED display, an M6 MacBook Pro and an M6 iMac. An upgraded iPad mini with an OLED display, an A20 Pro chip and thinner bezels is also reported to arrive around the same time as the iPhone Duo. None of these has an Apple announcement behind it.

What this means for you

If you want an iPhone Duo on the first day, the timing matters more than usual. Pre-orders open at 5 a.m. Pacific Time on October 16, which is mid-afternoon in Romania, and popular configurations tend to sell out fastest. Decide on the storage tier in advance, since the step from 256GB to 1TB adds $600.

If you live outside the first wave of countries, the October 30 date is the one to watch, and local prices may differ from the U.S. ones.

The Duo is not for everyone. At $1,999 it costs far more than a regular iPhone, and it is aimed at people who value a large screen that folds into a pocketable size. Anyone happy with a standard phone has little reason to pay the premium.

If you are waiting for a Mac, an iPad mini or a smart home device, treat the October dates as rumors until Apple announces them. Buying now on the strength of a leak can mean paying for a product that is about to be replaced, or waiting for something that arrives later than reported.

What remains unconfirmed

Apple has not confirmed any product beyond the iPhone Duo for October, and it has not announced a date for the home lineup or the Macs. The reported dates and chip names may change.

The reliable part is the short list: the iPhone Duo’s pre-order and delivery dates are official, and the price comes from reputable reporting. For everything else on the October list, wait for Apple to say it.
